Careless Darlin is a sewing blog for the romantic gal. It features vintage style cotton dresses and floral prints with a prairie dress sensibility. My name is Nikki Leigh and I’m the main gal behind Careless Darlin.  I am inspired by and utterly enamored with the mythology and symbolism of the Wild West and California – from pioneers and the gold rush to the 1960s and rock and roll – and how these eras inform the modern California romance.

I am a lifelong collector of vintage clothing, especially the romantic styles from the late Sixties and early Seventies.  Prairie dresses, Victorian necklines, flowing gowns, statement sleeves, florals, and cotton.

Now that my vintage clothing loves are becoming increasingly popular and rare, I have set out to create a record of all of the beautiful dresses being donned by beautiful people.  In essence, both an ode to beauty and a place to find fashion inspiration.

If you have a photo of a dress that you’d like to have featured on Careless Darlin, please feel free to drop me a line at:

Thank you for stopping by!

I am happy to post both private photos and photos that link to a shop.  I just ask that you submit good quality, beautiful photos to inspire the community here at Careless Darlin.

This blog was inspired by the now inactive, but ever-lovely Gunnes on Parade.
